ORGANIZATIONAL CHART OF KELAB HIJAU PUTRA (KEHIJAU)
SESSION 2025/2026

INTRODUCTION

Kelab Hijau Putra (Putra Green Club), or KEHIJAU for short, which is proposed to be established, is the only club at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) that places green and sustainable lifestyles as the core foundation of its establishment, in line with UPM’s status as a leading green campus. Accordingly, this club is established with the primary vision of nurturing a campus community that is aware of current environmental issues while also playing a proactive role in addressing them.

Therefore, KEHIJAU will also serve as the official organization responsible for assisting in managing and continuing the solid waste management projects previously carried out by the WasteBank@UPM volunteers. It is hoped that the establishment of KEHIJAU will help expand the role and activities of WasteBank@UPM as the main recycling collection center for the UPM campus community, assist students particularly those from the B40 group in generating income through the sale of recyclable materials and upcycling products, as well as expose students to volunteerism and entrepreneurship activities.

OBJECTIVES OF KELAB HIJAU PUTRA (KEHIJAU)

  • To produce students who are consistently aware, proactive, and responsible in maintaining the sustainability of UPM’s green campus.

  • To enhance students’ soft skills, particularly in communication and leadership, in managing an organization.

  • To instill a spirit of volunteerism and entrepreneurship among students in serving for the well-being of the environment.

  • To foster close ties between students and UPM management staff in jointly practicing a green (eco) lifestyle, both on and off campus.

  • To enhance UPM’s image as a leading green campus university in Malaysia and globally through sustainable campus practices.

  • To establish strong collaborative networks with external organizations such as NGOs and industry partners in conducting volunteer activities or programs focused on environmental sustainability.
