ORGANIZATIONAL CHART OF THE HINDU ASSOCIATION UPM SESSION 2025/2026

 

 

 

INTRODUCTION

The Hindu Association of Universiti Putra Malaysia (PHUPM) was established in 1975 by Mr. Manoharan. The first advisor of this association was YB Assoc Prof Dr. Amarthalinggam until 2002. The advisory role was then taken over by Prof. Dr. Paramasivam A/L Muthusamy (currently YBhg Prof Datuk Dr. Paramasivam A/L Muthusamy) until mid-2013. Subsequently, Assoc Prof. Dr. Siva Kumar took over as advisor until mid-2014. Currently, YBhg Prof Datuk Dr. Paramasivam A/L Muthusamy remains as the advisor of PHUPM from mid-2014 to the present.

The association was established to safeguard the welfare and interests of Indian students at UPM. Additionally, it aims to provide opportunities for Indian students at UPM to actively participate in programs related to academics, intellectual growth, Indian culture, Hindu spirituality, and volunteering. These programs aim to assist in personal development, provide project management experience, and serve the Indian community in Malaysia.

The Hindu Association of UPM also aims to protect the financial well-being of its members by providing various funds and conditional financial assistance under the PHUPM Trust Fund

OBJECTIVES OF THE HINDU ASSOCIATION UPM

  • To establish good relationships between the administration of the Hindu Association UPM and its members.

  • To promote unity among Indian students at Universiti Putra Malaysia.

  • To build a positive network among association members that will benefit their campus life.

  • To provide opportunities for Indian students at UPM to actively participate in programs related to academics, intellectual development, Indian culture, Hindu spirituality, and volunteering.

VISION

"To be an association that empowers Indian students at Universiti Putra Malaysia to be diligent in acquiring knowledge, highly motivated to improve their skills, and committed to building strong relationships with fellow students both inside and outside the university, as well as with the Indian community outside."

MISION

"To improve the quality of life for Indian students at Universiti Putra Malaysia in order to produce disciplined, independent generations who serve society."
