ORGANIZATIONAL CHART OF PERSATUAN SENI SILAT CEKAK MALAYSIA UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA (PSSCMUPM) FOR THE 2024/2025 SESSION

PENGENALAN

The Persatuan Seni Silat Cekak Malaysia Universiti Putra Malaysia, or its acronym PSSCMUPM, was officially established in 1974. This association was founded to provide a platform for students to learn the art of Silat Cekak Malaysia in a formal and academic manner. Since its establishment, PSSCMUPM has greatly contributed to the development of student character, especially among its members, honing leadership skills, and producing individuals who are ethical and competitive.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PERSATUAN SENI SILAT CEKAK MALAYSIA UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA (PSSCMUPM)

• To introduce Silat Cekak as one of the traditional Malay martial arts.

• To revive, introduce, and preserve the cultural heritage of the Malay race, which is nearly forgotten.

• To instill a love and appreciation for the rights and heritage of the Malay people.

• To develop the human skills and soft skills of the members through participation in national-level programs and activities organized at UPM.

VISION

"To uphold the traditional Malay martial arts, specifically Silat Cekak Malaysia, and cleanse the Malay martial arts world from any superstitious and un-Islamic elements that do not align with the Islamic faith."

MISION

"To lead and shape the members of PSSCM, particularly and the Malay people in general, to be faithful and united in defending the Religion, Race, and Country."

 PERSATUAN SENI SILAT CEKAK MALAYSIA ACTIVITIES

• Silat training classes are held twice a week (Tuesday and Wednesday) at the Faculty of Human Ecology every semester. The classes are divided into 4 levels: Basic, Falling, Cutting, and Finishing.

• Participation in the graduation ceremony with the Chief Instructor for Basic, Cutting, and Finishing levels.

• Participation in invited programs organized by PSSCM at other universities or branches (Silat Cekak Colloquium at USM, Lower Certificate Test).

• Participation in programs organized by the Persatuan Seni Silat Cekak Malaysia at the central and Klang Valley levels (Isra’ Mikraj Celebration, Hari Raya Celebration, Headquarters Members Meeting).

• Participation in programs organized by the National Silat Federation (PESAKA) such as the National Silat Gathering, PESAKA President's Field Programs, etc.

• Organizing and participating in recreational programs other than Silat (Iftar gatherings, BBQ, Outdoor, Silat Cekak Sports Tournament).
