3. Residential CollegesUniversiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has established housing policies and strategies based on reasonable accommodation principles to meet the needs of students with disabilities (OKU), including adequate financial resources to ensure their comfort and safety. UPM has implemented the UPM Inclusive Policy since 2020, enforced the UPM Guidelines for the Implementation of an Inclusive Campus for People with Disabilities in 2022, and has complied with Audit Malaysia (Audit MyU OKU) requirements since 2020. The implementation of these policies and guidelines reinforces the university’s commitment to providing suitable, safe, and conducive facilities and accommodations for all students with disabilities living on campus. From a financial perspective, the university allocates funds through special higher education financing and UPM endowment funds for the purpose of upgrading and improving residential facilities. This ensures that residential infrastructure meets current accessibility standards and aligns with the university’s aspiration toward an inclusive campus. |

As part of its efforts to strengthen an inclusive culture, Audit MyU-OKU and the UPM Guidelines for the Implementation of an Inclusive Campus for People with Disabilities serve as key frameworks in promoting equitable access across the campus.
