Yan, 11 September – This morning, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)’s flood relief mission to Yan, Kedah, began with the distribution of electronic devices, cash contributions, and essential kitchen supplies to two UPM students: Muhammad Aizam Mazlan in Taman Lembah Merbok and Alya Najwa Abdul Mutalib in Pantai Murni Yan. The UPM Flood Relief Mission in Yan, involving 40 staff and students, was divided into four groups — two assigned to distribution duties and the other two to volunteer assistance work.
The UPM volunteer groups focused their efforts in two locations: Masjid Jamek Badlisyah and the water reservoir in Kampung Rendang Pasir. The distribution groups delivered aid to residents in and around Kg Rendang Pasir, Kg Tohor, and Kg Dusun Manggis. The largest batch of aid — comprising 2,600 copies of the Quran, prayer garments, prayer mats, pillows, batik cloths, and baby porridge — was distributed to the management of Masjid Jamek Badlisyah, Masjid Kg Ruat, BUDI Orphanage, SK Langkasuka, SK Haji Nyak Gam, Tahfiz al-Fityan, and the Raudhatul Jannah Religious Learning Centre.
Also present were Puan Nik Nor Baizura Sabiamad from Sahabat Infaq Malaysia (SIM), Ustazah Nor Isfadiah Mohd Dasuki, and Ustaz Muhidin Mokter from Akademi Fitrah.
