30 March 2022, Serdang – Mr. Nuruliman Ibrahim, Head of the UPM Student Affairs Division, today had the opportunity to present high-specification devices to two Faculty of Engineering students, Muhammad Amir Faiz and Nurul Izzati Athirah.

Up until now, both students have been using smartphones to attend online lectures and had to borrow devices from their friends to complete academic assignments. As first-year students who do not own laptops and are classified as eligible to receive the donation, they were each provided with a high-specification laptop worth over RM3,000. This assistance was given based on their background as orphaned children, with their mothers having no steady income.

This initiative aims to ensure that the educational process for B40 students remains uninterrupted while they are at UPM. Also present at the event was Mr. Wan Ahmad Aiman Wan Daud, a former member of the 2020/2021 Student Representative Council, who has always advocated for the welfare of engineering students to the BHEP.

The BHEP and the entire UPM community are committed to enhancing the focus on the welfare and continuity of UPM students, especially those from the B40 and asnaf groups.

It is hoped that this assistance will help these students achieve academic excellence, despite the various challenges they face during their time at the university.
