UPM PUTRA ICON AWARD 2024

BANGI, July 29, 2024 – Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ibrahim Komoo, Chairman of the University Board of Directors, officiated the 2024 UPM Putra Icon Award Ceremony. This award ceremony was held to honor and express gratitude to students who have significantly contributed to the development of activities, participated in competitions, and achieved outstanding success in various fields, in line with UPM's goal of producing holistic, compassionate, patriotic, and resilient graduates.

A total of 296 applications were received, but only 53 applicants were shortlisted to compete for 18 awards across different clusters and one main award, the Putra Icon Award, presented this morning. The 2024 UPM Putra Icon Award was bestowed upon Ahmad Danish Iskandar Mohd Fadzil, a second-year Bachelor of Science in Physics (Honours) student from the Faculty of Science (FS). He has been active as a student leader at various levels, from the faculty to the international stage, consistently dedicating his time to ensuring that STEM becomes a culture among school students and the general public.

Also in attendance were Dato' Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (HEPA), members of the University Management Committee (JPU), senior officers, and UPM student leaders.

Congratulations to all the recipients of the 2024 Universiti Putra Malaysia Putra Icon Award. May this recognition serve as a catalyst and new inspiration for the entire UPM community in producing distinguished and outstanding students.
