UPM Serdang, 8 January 2025 - Global Tech. Solution & Services Sdn. Bhd., a company owned by UPM Alumni 2004 who is also a person with disabilities (OKU), Mr. Mazzreemie Zainal Abidin, has donated laptops to two UPM OKU students, valued at RM899 each.

Clarissa Fenia, 23, a first-year OKU student from the School of Management and Economics, was excited to receive a laptop after three months of being a UPM student.

Clarissa also shared her perseverance in continuing her studies despite not being able to return home to celebrate Christmas with her family and registering without parental accompaniment in early October 2024. She also mentioned to the founder of Global Tech. Solution & Services Sdn. Bhd. that, in addition to studying business at UPM, she is also learning sewing skills and recently participated as an archer in the SUKMA games.

Also expressing her joy, second-year OKU student with visual impairment from the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, Wan Norsyuhada Wan Deraman, 22, shared that her laptop was recently damaged and could no longer be repaired.

Also present was Datin Haryani Abdul Hamid from Global Tech. Solution & Services, who gave words of encouragement to the students, urging them to stay strong in facing the challenges of being students and to continue learning beyond their academic fields as an added value for their future careers.

Global Tech. Solution & Services Sdn. Bhd. also offered future collaboration opportunities in the field of smart digitalization if needed. The UPM Student Affairs Department is very grateful for this donation, which is considered as a valuable contribution from alumni to UPM. There are various ways to give back to the university, and the method chosen by Mr. Mazzreemie Zainal Abidin has had a significant impact on the students, in particular, and the university as a whole.
