SERDANG, 29 October 2025 – Global Tech. Solution & Services Sdn. Bhd., a company owned by a 2004 Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) alumnus who is also a Person with Disabilities (PwD), Mr. Mazzreemie Zainal Abidin, has donated three (3) laptops to UPM students with disabilities. Each laptop, worth RM1,800, is expected to help improve online learning access and academic support for students with special needs.
Among the recipients was Kuiek Siew Nie, 19, a first-year student from the School of Business and Economics, who expressed her gratitude and excitement as she is now able to own her first laptop for academic use.
In addition, Mr. Mazzreemie, who was also a former member of UPM’s well-known nasyid group, Nahwan Nur, presented two more laptops to Nur Zafna Zuhani, President of OHSEM UPM, on behalf of two other eligible PwD students.
The handover ceremony was also attended by Datin Haryani Abdul Hamid, a representative of the company, who is a 1998 UPM alumna and former President of the UPM Choir Group. In her remarks, she encouraged students to remain resilient, believe in their abilities, and continue striving for success despite challenges.
It is hoped that this contribution will ease students’ financial burden, inspire academic excellence, and strengthen ties between UPM alumni and its student community in the future.
