
TRUE NORTH WORKSHOP TNC(HEPA) WITH UPM MPP
PUTRAJAYA, May 23, 2024 – The True North Workshop organized by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) [TNC(HEPA)] in collaboration with the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Student Representative Council (MPP) was held at the Palm Garden Golf Resort. The workshop was organized by the Student Affairs Division and was attended by 20 members of the 2022/2023 UPM Student Representative Council and 40 members of the 2023/2024 UPM Student Representative Council.
During the workshop, participants were introduced to the 2024 HEPA strategic framework and the 2025-2050 direction, considering factors such as Talent Development, Research & Innovation, Knowledge Sharing & Transfer, Internationalization, and Enabling Ecosystems. The workshop also emphasized HEPA's plans and direction in driving the vision and mission of the Ministry of Higher Education towards making Malaysia a premier hub of talent and knowledge in the region.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), reminded the student leaders of the importance of being prepared to manage their organizations efficiently and to handle their entrusted responsibilities with transparency. The UPM Vice-Chancellor also stressed that every member of the UPM community should carefully study and understand the implementation of True North UPM and be willing to step out of their comfort zones to face future uncertainties, avoiding actions that could jeopardize UPM’s stability.
Also present at the workshop were the Residential College Principals, the Chief Administrator of TNC(HEPA), the Head of the Student Affairs Division, and the Heads of Sections within the Student Affairs Division.
