SERDANG, 28 November – A total of 43 students, including 1 representative with special needs, attended the Appointment Warrant Ceremony of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) for the 2025/2026 session. The event was held in a respectful and meaningful atmosphere, officiated by the UPM Vice-Chancellor, YBhg. Dato' Professor Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, who formally appointed the university’s new student leadership team.

During the ceremony, Nuqman Naufal Bin Nor Azhari, a Bachelor of Science in Human Development (Honours) student, was entrusted with the significant role of President (YDP) of the UPM SRC. He led the recitation of the appointment pledge, symbolizing the entire student leadership’s commitment to serve with dedication, integrity, and high accountability.

The event was further enlivened by the presence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs) of UPM, Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, deans, and senior university officers, who provided full support to the new student leadership.

Nuqman Naufal’s appointment is not merely a continuation of student leadership tradition but also a manifestation of the university’s confidence in the ability of young leaders to shoulder significant responsibilities. It positions them as a bridge between the administration and students, advocating for student welfare and conveying student voices wisely and responsibly.

UPM’s ethos as a centre of knowledge that cultivates character and ethics is reflected in the expectation that the student leadership will continue to act as agents of change, uphold the trust given to them with respect, and drive the university towards holistic excellence.
