PUTRAJAYA, 9 April 2025 – A visually impaired student, Miss Tan Shieh Li, received a tablet device as part of the Tablet Learning Device Distribution Initiative for B40 Students, during an official ceremony officiated by the Chairman of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Tan Sri Abdul Razak Abdul Majid.

The ceremony took place at Dewan Seri Sarjana, Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Putrajaya campus, and was attended by representatives from educational institutions, government agencies, and eligible student recipients.

This initiative aims to support students from low-income (B40) households, particularly those from the Persons with Disabilities (OKU) community, by enhancing their access to digital learning tools and resources.

Miss Tan Shieh Li, a dedicated and active student despite her visual impairment, is expected to benefit greatly from the device, which will enable her to participate in the learning process more effectively and inclusively.

The programme underscores the organisers’ commitment to ensuring no student is left behind in the nation’s fast-evolving digital education landscape.

With initiatives such as this, more students from the B40 group will have equitable opportunities to pursue education, regardless of socioeconomic background or physical limitations.

The event also featured appreciation speeches and a symbolic handover of the tablets to the selected recipients.

It is hoped that this meaningful effort will serve as a catalyst for the implementation of more inclusive educational programmes in the future.
