Kuala Lumpur, 22 June 2025 – The Student Affairs Division (BHEP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), has organised the Workshop on the Review of Relevant Regulations and Guidelines as a continuous effort to strengthen student welfare and safety throughout their studies at the university.
This workshop involved strategic collaboration with various key Responsibility Centres (PTJ) including the Office of the Legal Advisor (PPUU), University Health Centre (PKU), Office for Development and Asset Management (PPPA), Occupational Safety and Health Office (OSH), Bursar’s Office, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS), as well as the UPM Student Leadership Bodies comprising the Student Representative Council (MPP) and College Representative Council (MPK).
The purpose of this workshop was to reassess the existing regulations, guidelines, and governance related to various aspects of campus life. Among its main objectives were to identify weaknesses, propose improvements, and redesign policies to better reflect the current needs of students.
The workshop discussed, refined, and developed several key guidelines including the Review of the Standing Orders of Residential Colleges, Development of Guidelines for the Implementation of Community Service-Based Disciplinary Actions, Review of the Appeal Process for College Placement, Governance for Cafeteria Monitoring under the supervision of Student Affairs and Alumni (HEPA), Development of the Student Kitchen (Dapur Siswa), and Guidelines for the Student Protection Fund.
Through this workshop, UPM remains committed to ensuring that student welfare, safety, and well-being are always prioritised, in line with the university’s aspiration to Produce Resilient Graduates Ready to Face Future Challenges.
