
UPM, 9 February 2024 – The Yayasan Bank Rakyat Early Education Assistance Presentation Ceremony was held at the Foyer of Dewan Taklimat Serdang, UPM, where a total of RM100,000.00 was distributed to 100 selected UPM students. This initiative aims to support students from underprivileged backgrounds, particularly those from the B40 group, and to provide opportunities for them to pursue higher education and improve their socio-economic status.
The symbolic handover was conducted by YBhg. Prof. Dr. Haji Raduwan Idar, Trustee of Yayasan Bank Rakyat, who presented the assistance to eight UPM students. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Haji Raduwan emphasized the importance of diligent study and striving for excellent results until graduation. He also shared valuable tips to help students navigate university life effectively.
The Division of Student Affairs at UPM, representing the university, expressed profound gratitude to Yayasan Bank Rakyat for their generous contribution. They hope that this initiative will ease the financial burden on students as they begin their studies in the upcoming semester and support them in achieving greater academic success.
Also present at the event were Encik Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani, General Manager of Yayasan Bank Rakyat; YBrs. Prof. Madya Dr. Amini Amir Abdullah, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) UPM; Encik Abdullah Arshad, Chief Administrator of the TNC(HEPA) Office; and Puan Noraihan Nordin, Head of the Division of Student Affairs.
The ceremony not only provided financial aid but also demonstrated the ongoing commitment between Yayasan Bank Rakyat and Universiti Putra Malaysia to empower students, especially those from less privileged backgrounds. It is hoped that such initiatives will continue to support students in achieving their goals and realizing their aspirations.
