
95 STUDENTS RECEIVE APPOINTMENT LETTERS FOR JPMPP UPM SESSION 2023/2024
8 January 2024 - A total of 95 new members of the Student Representative Council Election Committee (JPMPP) led by Jose Daniel Ingom Anak Johnny received their appointment letters for the 2023/2024 session. The appointment letters were presented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, at the UPM Briefing Hall.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Arifin expressed hope that with the formation of this committee, the election process for the UPM Student Representative Council for the 2023/2024 session would proceed smoothly and without any issues. He also urged all appointed JPMPP members to carry out their responsibilities with wisdom and dedication, emphasizing the importance of avoiding any form of racism or favoritism.
Prof. Dr. Arifin reminded the JPMPP members of their crucial role in ensuring the integrity and transparency of the election process, which is vital for strengthening the campus democracy system.
Also present at the ceremony were Prof. Madya Dr. Amini Amir Abdullah, Chairman of the Residential College Principal Committee; Encik Abdullah Arshad, Head of Administration, Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Student Affairs & Alumni); and Puan Noraihan Noordin, Head of the Student Affairs Division.
The event provided an opportunity for JPMPP members to meet and discuss their responsibilities as well as strategies to ensure a successful upcoming election. It is hoped that with this appointment, all JPMPP members will execute their duties with integrity and high commitment.
The ceremony also included a briefing on the rules and procedures that need to be followed throughout their term. With support and cooperation from all parties, it is anticipated that the UPM Student Representative Council election will be a success, bringing benefits to the entire campus community.
