SERDANG, April, 1 2020 – It has been found that approximately 1,600 UPM off-campus students, that are living within the Serdang and Seri Kembangan areas, are also undergoing the Movement Control Order (MCO) as to prevent the Novel Coronovirus (COVID19) pandemic cases.
Head of Students’ Affair Division (BHEP) Fahmi Azar Mistar, stated that the raw ingredients contribution helps vastly in limiting the students’ movement to look out for food ingredients throughout the MCO period. “The raw ingredients contribution 5221 (5 kilos of rice, 2 kilos of sugar, 2 kilos of wheat flour and 1 packet of cooking oil) has been distributed to the off-campus students on a gradual release, with the help from the UPM Students Council (MPP) and UPMISA.”
“Around 50- 60 sets of raw ingredients are being distributed to off-campus students, which are mainly composed of international students,” he said while joining the off-campus distribution around the Seri Kembangan area. UPM has always been concerned about the welfare, safety and health of its off-campus students and hopes that such contribution could lessen the students’ burden and provide them more space to focus on their academic commitments throughout the MCO period.
