Integrity is often associated with major issues such as corruption, fraud or abuse of power. In reality, integrity is developed through the small choices we make every day. Arriving on time, completing assignments independently, returning borrowed items and speaking truthfully are simple actions that reflect a person's character.

As university students, every decision contributes to the formation of personal values and habits. Actions such as recording attendance for a friend, making up an excuse, copying another person's work or hiding a mistake may appear insignificant. However, when repeated, these actions can weaken one's principles and gradually turn dishonesty into a habit.

Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching. A student with integrity is not someone who never makes mistakes. Instead, it is someone who has the courage to admit a mistake, accept responsibility and take meaningful steps to improve.

University life provides an important training ground before students enter the workplace and wider society. Academic knowledge may help a graduate secure employment, but integrity determines whether that person can be trusted, respected and given responsibility.

Therefore, never underestimate the importance of a small decision. Integrity is not developed overnight. It is built through consistent and responsible actions. Choose to be honest, honour your commitments and respect the rights of others. Every good decision made today is shaping you into a more trustworthy and responsible individual for the future.
