BHEP POWERS STUDENT TRANSPORTATION WITH TWO NEW VEHICLES

Author: Marwan Abdul Razak

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni (HEPA) and the Student Affairs Division (BHEP) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) are always attentive to students' mobility needs within and beyond campus to support their learning activities. UPM’s curriculum and co-curricular programs are actively designed to ensure students achieve their learning objectives. BHEP is responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of students by providing bus, van, and mobility van services.

Through observations and statistical analysis of student movement using university buses and vehicles, UPM has approved the acquisition of two (2) new vehicles to facilitate student mobility for their learning activities.

On February 19 at 10:30 AM, two (2) Nissan Serena 2.0 Highway Star multipurpose vehicles were acquired. These vehicles are equipped with an efficient and safe electronic system, providing a comfortable space for both the driver and passengers. The passenger seats are designed to offer comfort, allowing students to review notes and reference materials while traveling to their learning destinations. The vehicles have unique registration numbers: UPM3497, representing the date when Universiti Pertanian Malaysia was renamed Universiti Putra Malaysia, and UPM7624, marking the launch date of UPM’s Food Security Blueprint.

The addition of these two (2) vehicles is expected to positively impact the quality of student learning. It also strengthens Universiti Putra Malaysia’s staff in delivering the best services to students, who are the future leaders of the nation.
