Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has implemented various initiatives to enhance the quality of service delivery, including the implementation of the ISO Management System, Client Charter, Lean Management, Service Innovation, Innovative and Creative Groups (ICC), and various other efforts aligned with the aspirations of public service excellence. As an institution that consistently supports the public sector transformation agenda, UPM is committed to strengthening workplace environment management towards enhancing corporate image and reinforcing employee professionalism.
The Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem (EKSA), officially introduced in January 2014, is a rebranding of the 5S Practice in the public sector. This move is one of the government's strategic initiatives aimed at holistically improving the quality of public service delivery. The rebranding is in line with current needs that demand improved organizational performance and competitiveness, while also promoting the cultivation of creative and innovative values among departments and government agencies.
At the UPM level, the implementation of EKSA is also one of the main components in the evaluation criteria for the Star Rating of Responsibility Centers (PTJ). EKSA implementation at UPM is based on the principles of 5S Practices – Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain – which have been strengthened through the addition of several new core elements, namely:
Corporate Image
Creativity and Innovation
Green Practices
Conducive Environment
Agency Diversity
