Student Union Management Briefing Session

On March 30, 2024, the Student Affairs Division, in collaboration with the Student Union Management Committee (JPKM) of the 2022/2023 session, successfully organized the UPM Student Union Management Briefing Session. The event took place at the Dewan Taklimat Serdang, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and was attended by 80 participants, including representatives from the Student Representative Council (MPP), College Representative Councils (MPK), Faculty Representative Councils (MPF), as well as former MPP members of the 2022/2023 session who also served on the JPKM of the same session.

The primary objective of the program was to provide in-depth exposure to the process of activity approval for students and to share management procedures for student activities with the newly appointed JPKM members for the 2023/2024 session. This briefing aimed to offer clear and practical guidance to all parties involved in planning and executing student activities more effectively and systematically.

Additionally, the event included the handover of responsibilities from the outgoing JPKM to the new JPKM members. This handover was conducted by Ms. Sarah Alia, representing the outgoing President of the MPP for the 2022/2023 session, to Ms. Umairah Farisah, the President of the MPP for the 2023/2024 session. This ceremony symbolized the transition of leadership and reinforced continuity within the student unions at UPM.

The program commenced with an opening address by Mr. Khairul Hafiz Mohamad, Head of the Leadership and Identity Section of the Student Affairs Division (BHEP). In his speech, Mr. Khairul Hafiz emphasized the importance of leadership and personal identity in advancing student activities and ensuring the success of planned programs.

The event concluded with an interactive session where participants shared experiences and discussed various issues and challenges related to managing student activities. It is hoped that this briefing will enhance the capabilities of all JPKM members in fulfilling their responsibilities and making positive contributions to the university.

Overall, this program was a crucial step in strengthening the management structure of student activities at UPM and ensuring the continuity and effectiveness of various activities that benefit the student community.
