UPM Serdang, March 1, 2024 – Fostering a love for reading from an early age is essential for nurturing a wealth of knowledge and stimulating brain development in children. In line with this objective, the Read@Uni UPM program, introduced in 2019, aims to instill a passion for reading among young learners. To support this initiative, the Student Affairs Division organized a Children's Storytelling Competition, where children showcased their storytelling skills based on the books they have read.
The competition was not limited to children in their reading years alone; it also extended to those aged 4 to 5 years, providing them with an opportunity to step forward and build their self-confidence. This inclusive approach encourages even the youngest participants to engage actively and develop their public speaking skills.
A special thanks goes to Tadika KUPUTRA for their invaluable contribution in preparing the participants. Their efforts ensured that the children were well-prepared and confident for the competition.
This initiative is not only aimed at cultivating a love for reading but also at supporting personal development in young children. By participating in such programs, it is hoped that future leaders will emerge from a generation rich in knowledge, capable of contributing positively to society and the world at large.
Through such programs, we aspire to foster a lifelong love of reading in future generations and to uphold the tradition of valuing and sharing knowledge for the betterment of the global community.
