Kuala Lumpur, 22 June 2025 – The Student Affairs Division (BHEP) of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has organised a Workshop on the Review of Relevant Regulations and Guidelines as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen student welfare and safety throughout their academic journey at the university.
This workshop involved strategic collaboration with various key Responsibility Centres (PTJs), including the Legal Advisor’s Office (PPUU), University Health Centre (PKU), Development and Asset Management Office (PPPA), Occupational Safety and Health Office (OSH), Bursar’s Office, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS), and UPM's Student Leadership Bodies, namely the Student Representative Council (MPP) and College Representative Council (MPK).
The primary aim of the workshop was to reassess existing rules, guidelines, and governance practices across multiple aspects of campus life. Key objectives included identifying gaps, proposing improvements, and restructuring policies to better align with the current needs of students.
Among the key focus areas discussed were the refinement and development of guidelines such as the Universiti Putra Malaysia (Residential College) Order 2025, the Guidelines for the Implementation of Community Service Penalties, the Universiti Putra Malaysia (Road Traffic) Regulations 2025, the Review of the Residential College Placement Appeal Process, governance procedures for monitoring cafeterias under the purview of the Student Affairs and Alumni Division (HEPA), the development of student cooking facilities, and the Guidelines for the Student Protection Fund.
Through this workshop, BHEP UPM reaffirmed its commitment to prioritising student welfare, safety, and well-being—fully aligned with the university’s goal of nurturing resilient graduates prepared to face future challenges.
