 Question : What is the MySiswa Card?  

 

  • The MySiswa Card is an initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) in collaboration with Public Universities (UA) to standardize student campus cards (smart cards) in an effort to create a "cashless campus" ecosystem and improve financial management for students, university administration, and KPT.
  • All students at Public Universities are REQUIRED to open an I-Pro RHB savings account and possess a MySiswa Card.

    Question : How can students obtain the MySiswa Card?

    Answer:

  • Students are required to first open and activate an i-Pro RHB savings account. The steps for opening an i-Pro RHB savings account can be found at the following link: [Bank Account Opening Steps]. Once the account is successfully opened, the MySiswa Card will be printed and distributed by the Student Affairs Division (BHEP), UPM.
  • For new students, BHEP will organize a centralized distribution and activation program for the MySiswa Card on a specified date and time. Students should pay attention to announcements from BHEP via student email or BHEP’s social media. Students need to bring their identification card or passport for verification during the MySiswa Card application process.
  • For existing students, they can submit their MySiswa Card application to the email address  kebajikan@upm.edu.my or apply directly at the BHEP counter.

    Question : What should a student do if they have questions or issues related to the MySiswa Card?

    i. For any matters related to banking and the I-Pro Savings Account with RHB, students can directly deal with RHB Bank through the following channels: a. Customer Service Center via email: customer.service@rhbgroup.com or by calling: 03-92068118; or b. Visit any RHB/RHB Islamic branch. A list of all RHB/RHB Islamic branches can be found at https://www.rhbgroup.com/locate/index.html.   ii. For any inquiries related to the MySiswa Card at Universiti Putra Malaysia, students can email bhep.kebajikan@upm.edu.my or contact the Student Welfare Section Officer, Student Affairs Division at 0397696074/1326/8055 (during office hours on working days only).

    Question : What are the Student Welfare Fund and the Student Protection Fund?

    Answer: The Student Welfare Fund and the Student Protection Fund are initiatives established to support and ensure the well-being of students based on eligibility and specific needs. Student Welfare Fund: i. The Student Welfare Fund is created to alleviate the burden on UPM students facing welfare and emergency issues. The types of assistance provided include: a) Emergency situations b) Tuition fees c) Personal allowances d) Accidents/Illnesses e) Death contributions for students/parents f) Grocery expenses/Toll (for student funeral management) g) Funeral arrangements for students h) Other disasters Student Protection Fund: ii. All undergraduate and graduate students at UPM are covered by the Student Protection Fund. Types of claims that can be made include: a) Accident claims b) Medical expenses claims c) Chronic illness claims d) Disability e) Student death benefits f) Hospital ward allowances   iii. Eligibility criteria for applying for the Student Welfare Fund and the Student Protection Fund are as follows: a) The student must be active and enrolled at Universiti Putra Malaysia; and b) The student must be a contributor to the Student Welfare Fund and the Student Protection Fund.

    Is it a disciplinary offence if a student takes any notes into the examination hall?

    Yes, if student take any book, paper, document, picture, electronic device or other things into an examination room unless permitted by the invigilator into an examination hall is commits a disciplinary offense as provided under Rule 8, Universities and University Colleges (Universiti Putra Malaysia) (Discipline of Students) Rules 2024.

    What are the rights of a student when they are charged with disciplinary action?

  • Section 16B (3C) AUKU 1971 - The student is allowed to make written or oral representations in any disciplinary proceeding taken against him/her;
  • Section 16B (3B) AUKU 1971 - The student has the right to be represented by an employee or another student at the University in any disciplinary proceedings taken against him/her.

    What punishment will a student receive if they are found guilty during a disciplinary proceeding?

    Refer to rule 58, Universities And University Colleges (Universiti Putra Malaysia) (Discipline Of Students) Rules 2024:   Any student who is found guilty of any of the disciplinary offence under these Rules shall be liable to one or any appropriate combination of two or more of the following punishments:

  • a warning;
  • community service which shall not exceed twenty-four hours in accordance with the regulations made by the Board;
  • a fine not exceeding five hundred ringgit;
  • exclusion from being in any part of the Campus for a period as may be determined by the disciplinary authority;
  • expulsion or exclusion from staying in the hostel;
  • for disciplinary offence relating to the academic matters, suspension from sitting any examination as may be determined by the University;
  • suspension from being a student of the University for a period as may be determined by the disciplinary authority; or
  • expulsion from the University.
  • In respect of the disciplinary offences under rule 8, the Student Disciplinary Committee may, with the approval of the Senate, in addition to the punishment under subrule (1), impose punishment of a grade of fail for any particular course of studies or all courses of studies during the specified semester.
