The Malaysian Red Crescent (BSMM) UPM Chapter is an active uniformed body at Universiti Putra Malaysia, along with other uniformed bodies such as the Malaysian University Rovers Training Group, the Girl Guides Malaysia, and the Reserve Officer Training Unit (PALAPES).
BSMM Chapter UPM was founded in 1985 and registered as the 88th "Detachment" in February, 1986. On March 1, 1986, it was officially established and upgraded as a small district in June, 1989.
After a decade, the Malaysian Red Crescent Association of UPM Small Districts has been upgraded to a "Chapter" (District). This is a great honor that has been given by the National Malaysian Red Crescent Society because this increase in standards has successfully raised the standard of this association among educational institutions across the country.
Since its establishment, the leadership of this association has managed to successfully organize various activities, both in terms of volunteering, leadership and so on, as a result of the joint efforts of the association's members and enthusiastic advisors.
Through the organized activities, the members of this association are trained in organizational skills, competitiveness, responsibility, decision making and much more, in addition to being trained to apply the skills that have been learned in situations outside the classroom.
