24th October 2020- MPP UPM Session 2019/2020 has organised the International Leadership Dialogue Programme between Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universitas Padjadjaran Indonesia (UPI). This collaboration was made between UPM Students’ Representative Council (MPP) and Students’ Executive Board UNPAD which discussed on several topics related to students’ welfare and affairs. The sharing contexts also included students’ welfare in both institutions, academic matters and activities being held in both universities.
The online programme was conducted through Zoom app and was attended by more than 150 participants. Being in the participants’ list was also YBrs. Mr. Shahriman Hashim, the Head of Adminstration for Deputy Vice Chancellor of Students’ Affairs and Alumni (HEPA) UPM. He expressed his proudness for both leadership committees in these two universities which are very aware with the students’ needs in their campuses, during this worsening Covid-19 pandemic wave.
Besides,this programme has also emphasized on the social responsibilities between both institutes in sustaining the higher education services to the community, in their respective countries. As students, there are compulsory social responsibilities in ensuring the locals to benefit from education. The importance of producing concerned individuals towards the environment and strive to help in solving the problems faced by the community, are among the topics being shared throughout the discussion. Apart from that, students should also take up the role as leaders who practice respect, love and become the best example for the society.
