UPM Succeeds in Summarizing Awards in Conjunction with MAKUM Art Awards Ceremony

Congratulations and congratulations to all award recipients in conjunction with the MAKUM Art Awards Ceremony between Public Universities which was held on 30 December 2020.

The event held online is the biggest success jointly organized by the Cultural Council of Universiti Universiti Malaysia MAKUM and the Holistic Student Division of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia organized by Universiti Tun Hussien Onn Malaysia.

A total of 20 Public Universities throughout Malaysia have participated in programs and activities in the field of culture and the arts throughout 2018 until 2019. 11 awards have been realized including competitions, awards and souvenirs to individual artists, institutions and agencies that have shown many achievements and the contribution of devotion to this field which directly raises the dignity of the national art and cultural heritage to a higher level while raising the name of MAKUM to the world stage.



Universiti Putra Malaysia at this event won the Overall Second Place through the Gong Kencana Emas Award (Overall Award for the achievement and organization of the best cultural arts activities at the university level and MAKUM), the First Place of the Best Club / Association won by the ADIMASTULI Senitari Club through the Gambang Mustika Emas Award , 4th Place in the Women's Individual Category and 6th Place in the Men's Individual Category through the Golden Bonang Award. Meanwhile, the award was given to the Permanent MAKUM Officer, Mr. Adidi Tamin through the MAKUM Sari Drum Award and two cultural staff members, namely Mr. Kamaruladha Jalaluddin and Mrs. Noormah Ismaon through the MAKUM Sari Emblem Award.

Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student and Alumni Affairs YBhg. Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu who is also the Deputy Chairman of MAKUM expressed his pride and congratulations to the UPM team who have won the award. He believes this success is not easy to achieve without the strong support of all parties.
